CUSTOMER: A Major Research and Medical Center
Business Needs: An enterprising medical research center has been the premier research and medical
center in the world for its area of expertise. In order to support their mission
and their expanding work in a number of areas they were looking for a technology
partner that could support them long term. Based on technology discussions that
occurred over two years they were aware of Aspenware’s architecture centric approach
and technical expertise and initially engaged the Aspenware team to develop an architecture
and system that the Medical Center could use for discussions with a potential client.
Solution and Approach: Aspenware’s understanding of the long term direction
of the Medical Center team resulted in the development of numerous systems to support
the delivery of health care information in several areas. The database driven web
and phone applications allow the medical center team to rapidly respond to market
opportunities that involved government entities, companies and health plans using
an integrated system. The system supports web and call center entry points, configuration
of clients, protocols, appointments, and product and literature fulfillment system.
Distinct programs in smoking and weight management provide a variety of capabilities.
Users can move from a phone only interaction to a combined web and phone program
and have a number of interactive tools to monitor and track weight, activity, food
intake or smoking cessation behaviors. Additional support resources include personal
interaction with a coach and peer group support, helpful quizzes, healthy step information.
