CUSTOMER: Pharmacy Benefits Management
Business Needs: Time-to-market was the issue. The company needed to demonstrate
that they could delivery Pharmacy Benefit Management applications via the web to
meet their sales cycle to Health Plans, who were in turn contacting their company
clients.
Solution and Approach: The Company initially engaged Aspenware to develop
a Proof-of-Concept enrollment portal that could support both clients (Health Plans
or Companies) and the employees who are enrolled in the health plans. The specific
application was for the Pharmacy Benefit Management part of health plans. Based
on successful delivery of a Proof-of-Concept in less than one month, the company
decided to proceed with client and member portal deployment. The client portal supports
the delivery of company/plan/enrollee/pharmacy information to plan providers and
individual users. It is driven by the need to present specific information relating
to drugs, co-pays, health savings accounts, drug cost comparisons, pharmacy locations
and pharmacy promotions. Other applications, including a Cash Card portal, have
been built using the same platform.

and Permissions, Work Flow, Single-Sign On, Ajax, Search, Application Integration
